According to her website Katie Turner is "an illustrator from Tulsa, Oklahoma currently living in Brooklyn, NY. I go to Parsons where I study illustration and try to get better." We like her honesty. We all could use a little self improvement. What is creative perfection? Does creative perfection exist?
haha, my name is katie turner, too! i love how whimsical the other katie turner's work is and that honesty you mentioned reflects itself in her illustrations.
anyway, i used to think creative perfection existed and i spent a lot of time developing nervous habits to cope with finding that perfection, only to realize it doesn't really exist. we could always go back and do something over, but the point of creating is simply to create, not to hinder one's muse(s) with unrealistic standards. i think people are forgetting to just have fun!
